Rainer was born in São Bento do Sul, a small city in Southern Brazil.
In 2006, he earned a degree in Composition and Conduction at the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná (Escola de Música e Belas Artes do Paraná) where he also studied classical guitar. During the aforementioned studies, Rainer simultaneously attended classes in Brazilian Electric Guitar and Harmony at the Conservatory of Popular Brazilian Music (Conservatório de Música Popular Brasileira) in Curitiba, Brazil.
He has been a member of The Choir and Ensemble Edelwess since 1992, for which he wrote many arrangements. Rainer also participated in the production of two CDs recorded by the group.
To this day Rainer has maintained a partnership of over fifteen years with musician Eduardo Hänsch, with whom he recorded the album "Além do Vento" (Beyond the Wind) which released in 2011.
With the band Felipeharp, he recorded the EP "Back to the Road" released in 2009.
With the drummer Elvis Pauli he released many projects throughout the years, which also involved Instrumental Brazilian Music.
In 2010 he moved to Frankfurt, Germany. Rainer has been working on developing a new style of playing Brazilian music on the Western Guitar. In addition, he currently works teaching guitar.
